A Message from the President...

Spring has arrived and our Association is moving forward in a positive way. I just completed filling positions for the different committees and I have directed all committee directors to come up with plans or activities for the year  so that we can schedule them properly and incorporate their budget for our year financial plan.

Our social Committee headed by our Past President, Juliet Galvez, has announced her plan for the year. The first event is scheduled April 22nd for our Spring Get-Together to be held St. Stephen. The main purpose of this event is to get everybody together, report to the membership our plan for the year, welcome the newcomers and solicit input or ideas from the members. Membership is one of the pillar of our organization and thru members involvement will we succeed.

As we focus on Cultural program, folk dancing,  folk songs and exhibits are things we are considering. We are looking for some volunteers to help get started with our program, young and adults as dancers. We are going to start with few selected dances that we can feature at our upcoming social events. We are also going to form a choir to sing popular Filipino folk songs. We already have few exhibits that we can showcase during the Cultural Shows but we need more.

Education to learn Philippine customs, traditions, history, geography and language will start this summer. The program will start during school summer vacation, 6 – 8 weekend classes, place TBD. Minimum registration fee will be charge to cover materials, place rental and refreshments for all attendees. Interested may contact any officers at (615) 275-8805.

Everything we are planning to do requires some funding and it is important that we get all members get involved in our program. We will  sponsor fund raising and get you all to participate, not only to help our association but also to have fun. We will also solicit advertisers for our Quarterly Newsletters and Website. Interested in making donations or advertising, please contact any officers or send it to P. O. Box 8057, Hermitage, TN 37076.
